The U.N. and Iraq

Everyone around the world pontificated so loudly about the virtues of further sanctions using the UN.

The UN voted on 14 different resolutions relating to the 1991 Gulf War. No Change. It even voted that grave action would be allowed should Iraq not comply.

The UN and the world have stood still when Iraq needed her most over the last 6 months at least. A punishment to the US and UK for their invasion. Yet now who suffers? The Iraqi people suffer.

Is it moral for the world to stand by and watch innocent people blow up in terror acts?

Did you feel that justice was served when WHOMEVER flew jets into the World Trade Center buldings?

Are you aware that if it weren't for American ingueniuity on 9-11-01 that further attacks (and innocent American death) would have taken place?

The fact is that the UN felt more comfortable entering a pre-existing war in Bosnia than it does in Iraq. Why is that?

General Clark almost precipitated WWIII in an attempt to take over the Russian held airport - thanks to our British neighbors for stopping the man.

If the UN HELPED Iraq at this point and the US decided to take FIRMER military action, life for the innocent Iraqis would be different.

There is no moral vacuum, but there is a lack of global leadership.

Self interest is served first in a gravy of innocent blood.
